This chorus is part of Cantata Tamalpais, an original dramatization of the Miwok people of northern California, for which my father wrote words. In this scene the natives dance around a fire chanting 'Oye!' I conducted it in Marin County CA in 1992.

Why this name?
I was born with it.
Do you play live?
Sometimes. Yes, I do greatly enjoy it and will certainly do it again!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Mp3 technology has liberated the musical artist from the deep, dark chasm of previous obscurity. With modest technological prowess, the musician is now free to share with the whole world his/her unique offerings. Hallelujah!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably not
Your influences?
My main musical influences are the great European masters, especially Beethoven. Although I do greatly enjoy and am highly inspired by folk music, all folk music. I cannot hear enough of it. I feel the same about jazz.
Favorite spot?
Of all the places I have been, my favorite is within the vast wilderness of my childhood home—Marin County, California. I will always miss it dearly.
Equipment used:
My work is recorded using Garritan Personal Orchestra, Jazz & Big Band, and World Instruments sample libraries. I also perform and record my own compositions for classical guitar.
Anything else...?
To reckon with no one else,
serving and pleasing oneself.
To hold, among lackeys and kings,
both head and conscience erect.
To walk about at one's ease,
delighting in holy nature
and works of inspired art.
To sink in tender silence:
there is my justice and joy.
