When I was young, I was a big fan of performers that did their own thing, writing, playing, singing. I never had the opportunity to be part of a band.
Words first, probably, then something to go with it. I was doing my own thing and Dan asked to play along at one of my gigs. At that time I never heard a violin played the way Dan could. We played at a number of weddings, taverns, parks throughout the New York area in the seventies and eighties with mostly original songs.
