Carey Loftin is a flamenco guitarist who composes music that is new and original but contains strong elements from the vintage (Montoya, Ricardo, Sabicas, de Lucia) flamenco era.
Do you play live?
Currently performing in the Seattle area.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It would seem that the net and mp3's are going to change the industry in a way that before would have been unimaginable.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of Course!
Your influences?
For brevity I will give you my current line of interest: Paco de Lucia (from about 1967-73), Sabicas and Paco Serrano (considered a flamenco guitarist of the newer generation from Spain however his debut CD I believe will stand as one of the greatest flamenco CD's ever recorded.)
Favorite spot?
There are many, I enjoy Palma Spain allot.
