8 BLOCK RECORDS WAS FOUNDED IN 1994 UNDER THE MASTERMIND OF MR. ALPHONSO " SCOLEO " TURNER (FOUNDER, CEO $ EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) "8 Block Records"is a self made record lable that came from an idea of Alphonso "SCOLEO" Turner during his childhood. As time lapsed, the dream grew and manifested into reality. As a student at Ecorse High School,Alphonso got in the school marching band an later joined the stage band. Blessed with an ear for music, he stood in the top ranking of his class of "85".Unfortunately, his school did not give scholarships for performing arts. He formed a local band called "Stoned Experience". They performed all over the metro Detroit area but never was given a true shot at fame. In 1994, Alphonso created the record lable "8 Block Records"as a foundation for himself to escape his street life. In 1996, Omega "Big O" Jones, a well known friend and producer, became partner and investor. "ScoLeo" and Big"O" productions was then formed. They built the "Control Center"studio and from this produced more than 70 demos for independant artist as well as 10 albums in a span of 4 years.
