Psychic Space Invasion consists of Ian Holloway and anyone or anything that can be roped in at any given time.
Why this name?
A chance remark.
Do you play live?
Not currently but never rule anything out.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I'm not sure if it has changed it at all really.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not particularly an issue this.
Band History:
There isn't a history as such. I started PSI after a previous band broke up. It was a personal project that i was encouraged to pursue further by friends. I've released several cds both solo and in collaboration through Elvis Coffee Records and now Quiet World.
Sometime during 2007 there will also be a track appearing on a compilation released by the dutch label Anima Mal Nata. Also I am currently putting the finishing touches to a collaboration with Darren Tate (of Monos and Ora) that will be released on his Fungal label in the next couple of months.
Your influences?
Musically I'm influenced by people like Nurse With Wound, Andrew Chalk, Faust, Darren Tate, and various others that would just be a long list of names. I like drone and psychedelic music although i'm pretty much open to anything. Natural and everyday sounds provide the biggest influence or inspiration for my music. My intent is to create music that exists in harmony with the sounds of the world instead of trying to drown it out.
Favorite spot?
Beara Penninsula, Ireland. in particular, at the top of the Healy Pass.
Equipment used:
anything i can get my hands on and my head around.
Anything else...?
