I'm a bedroom DJ who's been making digital tunes for about 10 years. I'm not really into any one style and my albums reflect that by having a few unexpected detours into unexpected genres.
Why this name?
It's the name of a Lebanese company in Gambia that owns a supermarket that I did some contract work in for 8 days. I started my first album whilst I was there. The street that it was on was Kairaba Avenue and that is the title of the first album. (Lazy eh?)
Do you play live?
I mix live on occaisions and I am just getting into Ableton live which is opening up more 'live' options. It's a buzz!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's opened the door for a wider audience for unsigned bands whilst giving greater listening choice. This can only be a good thing and with it's inclusion in the charts hopefully some good music will get more airplay instead of that manufactured shite.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course, if anyone wanted to pay me for this I'd sign!
Band History:
Just been making tunes.
Your influences?
Don't know about influences but I always liked Queen, Gary Numan, Seal, Bjork, Underworld, Leftfield and Prodigy. At the moment I'm into drum & bass, house and just about anything experimental.
Favorite spot?
Amsterdam
Equipment used:
Anything I can get my hands on, at the moment it's a laptop, headphones and Ableton Live.
