What's going on, I'm Mouse the Prodigy. I'm an Emcee, friends of mine say that my music is a blend of both old and new styles, recalling both the soul and jazz samples of early GangStarr and A Tribe Called Quest, as well as the energy and wordplay found in more contemporary artists such as PackFM and Aesop Rock. I really enjoy making music. I would say that my work is more than just a hobby of mine, its an obsession. I'm influenced by everything from hip-hop to jazz, soul, rock and roll, classical and traditional folk music...I've been told I have auditory ADD, but that's cool with me. I'm hyperactive and I get bored easily so I try to challenge myself to improve in everything that I do. Feel free to browse through and download the tracks and EnJoy yourself on the page
One Love,
grace&piece...
Why this name?
Growing up I had a high voice and rodent like features
Do you play live?
I had some shows in Lincoln, I hit open mics, I jump in ciphers all the time
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think that it's made life easier for artists such as myself who can't really find an appropriate local audience, but on the other hand i think it's made us lazy and now i'm seeing a lot of BAD music that's coming out of people's mom's basements...like...me.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
YES! haha as long as I can keep my integrity as an artist
Band History:
I grew up in Omaha, moved to Hyannis, freaked out, put sh*** on the internet, cats dug it, kept writing, went to college and working on revised versions of this story
Your influences?
Anything and Everything
Favorite spot?
Chicago is ill, Philidelphia is another one of my favs, but I dig The French Quarter in New Orleads the most, so dirty and free
Equipment used:
i use a "Mackie Satalite" interface, USB 180 interface an "MXL" condenser mic,
"Tracktion2" "Audacity" as recording/mixing programs,
and i make beats using "Fruity Loops Studio 6"
Anything else...?
EnJoy yourself, remember it's the person that makes themselves an artist, but the fans make them famous
