The music on this collection are a compilation of poems - prayers - set to music by Boholano songwriters (composers) and musicians, Fr. J. Roel Lungay and TQ Solis, Jr., with special permission from known copyright holders. Arranged and performed by Fr. Roel himself, these 3-set programs are "made-for-children tunes" intended to instruct and inspire young minds as well as grown ups. Listen to the tunes yourselves and sing-along by clicking the lyric link to each and every song. Praise the highest heavens for these Art Songs!

MELODY FAIR

Father Roel's knack of humming, whistling, and even transcribing, melodies into notes has led him, more often than not, to setting previously written and/or published lyrical works to music... unknowingly that one day he'd come across with some of the works of the Salesian Missions who, eventually, gave him permission to set to music some of the poems excerpted from quite a few of their books on Christian Poetry. Hence, evolved this 3 volume CDs, "Christian Art Songs," which, by definition, means "previously published works set to music."

This Christian Art Songs, Volumes 1-3 is a collection of 71 prayers and poetries Father Roel set to music from early to the end of the nineties. All the music on these albums were arranged and performed by him on an HRS (Home Recording Studio) between 1993 to 1997 and for not-for-profit purposes.

Strickly used for ministry use only: teach kids at school, senior citizens groups and the different congregations in his previous and current parish assignments.

Special thanks to Ms. Sara Tarascio - and all the lyrical authors whose works are included here (noted in every single record) - of New Hope Books (Salesian Missions) for generously allowing the use many of their works for the glory of God and His Church! Thanks for letting Fr. Roel continue the journey of preaching and teaching through poetry and music.

I hope you enjoy the music and the melodies. Please don't pay much attention to the sound recording... they're all home recordings, and yet, as always, home-made stuff (like mom's cooking) are second to none! (".)

Special mention and appreciation to TQ Solis, Jr. who helped write some of the melodies (as will be noted) in these albums, per commission of Paring Bol-anon Music (LoL!).

Do you play live?
Yessssss
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
MP3 format and the Internet are great mediums (media) to get your music out ; I love its portability, and, needless to say, you're just a click away from everyone else!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Nope, but the songs would love to! (".)

The city that care forgot, Naw'lins (Louisiana), and the city that's far too friendly, Tagbilaran (Philippines)
