Lorie King is a singer's singer: an interpreter of song as well as a songwriter herself. She's an experienced worship leader and planner, and a gifted solo artist who has sung background vocals for many singer-songwriters.
Lorie King has led worship services throughout the United States, from East coast to West and many points in between, and on four continents. She has been leading worship as an instrumentalist and/or vocalist and planning worship services since the age of 17 and has held lay positions as a worship leader in stateside and international churches for the past 10 years.
Lorie has a Masters in Worship from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. As a mentor, coach, and editor, she has helped many singers and songwriters improve their craft, while always on the lookout for collaborators and musicians to blend her own talents with.

Why this name?
Elvira was already taken, and my parents were kind of hoping I'd choose "Lorie" as a stage name because they'd always meant to name me that but they hadn't filled out the birth certificate so I've been known as Baby Doe up till now.

Do you play live?
I lead worship at my church and have performed for many other events. There's nothing like it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Instant access, greater artistic freedom, no fences.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If a good opportunity came up we'd talk.
Your influences?
Watermark, Nichole Nordeman, Alison Krauss, Amos Lee, Maroon Five, Nickel Creek ... I love many forms of music, such as R&B, Top 40, country, bluegrass, hymns, and modern worship music.
Favorite spot?
A good beach.
