Take 4 very talented individual emcees, a blossoming, english, beat/buttons man, and a whole lotta hunger to make music, and you've got Sunk City. A hip hop crew from Vancouver Island, British Columbia. With a style that'll grad ahold of the heads listening and not let go. Strong and abusive language and many weird-ass, fictional scenarios just for shock value, very clearly seperates they're way of doing things from all others that have found themselves in this 4th dimension that is hip hop. This gathering of artists is one of the best kept secrets in the game and will now flourish and rise to take the top of the podium where Sunk City rightfully belongs.

Why this name?
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Photobucket - Video and Image HostingSunk City came together in a harbour city called Nanaimo, just an 1 1/2hr ferry trip from the mainland Vancouver, B.C. There have been discussions, and rumors of an earthquake thats supposed to hit the island and cause massive damages, possibly even sinking the entire island inlcuding Nanaimo, and Victoria. It is likely the earthquake may hit us at any time, so living here is a gamble every minute of the day. But Sunk City says "f*** it were here now we mays well just set up shop" So they did... Hence the name *Sunk City*
Do you play live?
Played at the Coast Bastion Hotel ballroom on new years eve. Hosted by John Z of the Fix101.7 CHLY, Played at Dizzy's Nite Club til they shut the scuzzy ass place down, You may catch them in the streets just kickin' freestyles or spitting new writtens over top of a beatboxer. It doesnt matter where, or when, these kids'll start spitting for old ladies on the street just for an audience at the time.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
.Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Entirely!, it twists, and spirals the whole industry. 3 years ago you actually had to buy a cd here or there in order to get that song you really wanted. Now you just go online and download the shit. Its good in a sense that theres no limit to the advertising and online publicity. But not so good in the sense that any kid can just go download your sh*** off limewire, or kazaa, etc. Overall its 50/50 to these boys
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yea if everything was in line. These arent cats to be sheisted around and used as label puppets, but they are open minded as f*** so lay the offer out there, lets talk.
Your influences?
Every single bit of hip hop, one way or another is taken in as an influence. Whether it be something that makes them hit repeat 3 times in a row, or a song so horrible that you have to shut it off immediatley just in order to spare those few moments you may have lost listening to the bullshit! If its tite you wanna compare or even blow it out of the water. If its Garbage rap you know youve already blown it out of the water. But its definately an influence either way.
Favorite spot?
Vancouver, B.C. so far...
