Why this name?
If it's 1977 and you're in a band called 'The Leftovers' you need to have a silly name. I was 'Johnny Remould'!
Do you play live?
I can be persuaded but I usually can't be bothered. Next gig will be the Dragon Festival in Spain in March, one of Europe's largest free festivals, with a short UK tour to follow in July.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The music business has been ripping off both artist and consumer alike since day one. But now anyone with a computer can make a tune and sell it directly to anyone else with a computer, cutting out the record companies entirely. The downside of course is that the listeners have to sift through even more crap to find the good stuff. What hasn't changed is that you still need the right promotion (and a good song helps!) to shift units.
These are interesting times, the recent change in the rules for eligibility to the official charts (downloads no longer having to be accompanied by a CD release) means that hopefully the charts will represent what people like, rather than what they're brainwashed into thinking they like by the mainstream media.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
The corporate whore in me says yes, if I thought they'd be any use! Anyway, record companies are just banks that are stupid enough to lend money to musicians.
