8th Day Rebellion was realized in the summer of 2006. Driven to create an atmospheric landscape, we decided to amend the differences we saw in the world by expressing the common flaws of humanity with a soundtrack that accompanies change... leading to and endorsing fortitude.
Why this name?
to turn lead into gold.
Do you play live?
8th Day is a web-based music project. There will be no live sets conducted by this band.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
There are a wide variety of avenues present in ciberspace for a band to lend their voice and creations to an audience. If music is a common language that expresses the rise and fall of humankind, we would like to be the soundtrack for change.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
This is something we never really considered when we began the band. We sought to create what we felt was a unique and masterful grip on the vision that we as people hope to see as we go through the necessary transitions into a more peaceful planet.
Band History:
Max Azpiazu & Scott L. Burton began playing/recording music in '97, alongside two others, under the monicker 'Scalp-Lock'. Differences in the band caused things to fall apart between members, so each person went their seperate ways.
In 2006, Max and Scott began talking about what they envisioned musically, while tossing around ideas and band names. The initial ideas thrown around were with a heavier, more guitar driven edge. But with the first two tracks, 'Of Semblance, of Suffering' & 'The Hunt...' being recorded, they realized the tone of their future musical prose and excursions as a more ambient/industrial darkside edge that seemed to work, as labels, perfectly with what they were recording.
Your influences?
Lull, Ministry, Radiohead, & Peter Gabriel were some of the major influences for the band.
