The Ghost Writers are a Chicago-based hip hop collective that examines life through the arts. Strongly influenced by Eastern philosophies and classic Jazz, their goal is to encourage the current generation to become independent thinkers through music, fine art and a sense of community. They are currently signed to Black Mushroom Records.

The Ghost Writers began their reign as Hip hop deviants in 2006. Zack Wicks dropped his debut mix-tape, The Prequel, in the fall of 2007, and the We Run Chicago EP shortly after. Later that year, Iceface Da Goblin joined the team. 2008 brought North-side rapper, White Ryno, into the mix. Halfway through 2008, Iceface released his debut mix-tape, Lead by Example. In preparation for The "Not Your Average Rapper" Album, Zack Wicks released his RIPJDEPB4CD EP.
