You'll be hearing mostly solo acoustic or electric
guitar, country blues based. Or other stuff. Fingerpicked for the most part. I like guys like Merle Travis, Blind Blake, Bill Williams, Larry Johnson, Gary Davis, Fred McDowell and other old country blues players and early jazz guys like Charlie Christian, Django Reinhardt, Lonnie Johnson, Eddie Lang.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Commercial music has to compete with free
music as distribution starts to become
point to point. This should add diversity
to the pool of artists signed by major
labels.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It's an ad hoc world, anything is possible.

Born in the '50s, playing blues, ragtime and

I am still playing songs I wrote 30 or more
years ago because people still ask for them.

Your influences?
Blind Blake, Merle Travis, Josh White, Bill Williams, Larry Johnson Dave Van Ronk, Rudi Protrudi, Boardwalk Bob Thompson. I should mention rockabilly/jazz guitarist Bill Fischer too, as all my friends I stole from learned from him. When I hear influence in my own playing it's mostly Bill Williams, Larry Johnson and Josh White, early on I learned off of Dave Van Ronk records.
Favorite spot?
Anywhere my family is, which at present would be
Chambersburg, PA, Lock Haven, PA and New Cumberland, PA.
