Why this name?
It is a collaborative name from my given birth name and surname.
Do you play live?
I play a lot; I work solo, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 pieces combos. I hit between 50 and 80 shows a year. I've been slowing it down a little lately.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's bumper to bumper out there; too bad.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. I'd sign.
Band History:
Throughout the midwest I have been a member of the following and likely unfamiliar bands:
Pyramid- Northern Michigan; covers and originals

Lewd Noogie- North Central Wisconsin; original with some covers
Northwind- Central Wisconsin; covers
Rickies Friends- S.W. Chicago Suburbs; covers
Stranger- S.W. Chicago Suburbs
Numerous wedding bands- Chicago area
Sara Hollister Band- Chicago; original, some covers
The Real Deal- S.E. Wisconsin; covers
Classix (with an "X")- S.E. Wisconsin; covers
The Heal with Rex Carroll
Your influences?
My parents listened to a lot of standard classical and Broadway musicals. I was exposed to great things like Henri Mancini, Boston Pops; Show tunes from Fidler On The Roof, The Music Man, Oklahoma; great pop artists of the 40's like Nat King Cole, The Crosby Brothers, Patti Page, Sinatra; we listened to popular music all the time.

I watched The Beatles on Ed Sullivan and was sucked in!

I played trumpet and french horn through grammar school and junior high. As a teenager in the 70's I found the electric guitar and bass and never looked back. Influences from that point would include my brother Clyde who played with Chicago bands Soul Machine and Happy Day, sang in a multitude of national commercials from Nestea Ice Tea, Ovaltine and Kraft Mayonaise, to Schlitz Beer, Carlton Hotels, Buick and GMC to name a few, global acts like Zepplin, Moody Blues, Hendrix, Santana, Beatles, Stones; all the heavy hitters. Also, I am a fan of most traditional song-form rock, soul, blues, folk, country, country rock, new age, and some jazz. I've been hearing some cool acid loops and euro techno disco at some 'cool' clubs.
Favorite spot?
#1- Michigans Upper Peninsula; God's country.
#2- the southwest; Arizona, New Mexico
Equipment used:
Peavey, Fender, Gibson, Carvin, Boss, Shure, Yamaha, Casio, Alesis, Nady, AKG, Akai
Anything else...?
All songs are copyrighted and registered with the United States Library of Congress and some are registered ASCAP compositions. Still looking for a publisher after all these years!

My brother Clyde, who inspired me in many ways through my life, but especially musically, passed away in November of 2007 after a short battle with ALS, Lou Gerhigs' Disease. I miss him greatly and have created a tribute site in his honor.
