Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pa, Yaa is a singer/songwriter on the rise. Though she was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa, both of her parents came to the United States directly from Ghana. She's always been able to sing, but she didn't grow up as a child wanting the fame and the spotlight of a solo artist. In fact, she attended Penn State University and received a degree in finance before a singing career ever crossed her mind. In 2001, after quitting her corporate job, she reached a crossroads in her life. It was at this crossroads where she decided she wanted a career in the music industry and began writing and singing her own songs. Yaa breathes new life into the world of R&B with her sweet, soulful sound.
