Audiomuse is my musical alias (and also the name of my web design studio). Here you will find a selected collection of my original works. These works are all original. They are not remixes or cover songs. I compose for many genres of music ranging from game music to instrumental music.
Feel free to leave me feedback. :)
Here is a little about myself:
I have been composing music for 14 years. My main focus is the piano, but I also write for other instruments. I started piano when I was 6 and received my ARCT diploma in performance in 2005.
I compose for a variety of genres including ones of the Baroque Era, Classical Era, Romantic Era, Impressionistic Era, and the 20th Century, as well as popular music and alternative rock. My favourite composers are Bach, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, and Balakirev—the latter being not so well known. Balakirev is perhaps most noted for his piano solo Islamey, but in fact, he has written several other piano solos that are also quite nice. His music is very Russian and borrows certain elements from folk music.
In 2004, I was commissioned to compose a piece for the BCRMTA (British Columbia Registered Music Teachers Association) and so I wrote Barcarolle (Op. 16) a piano solo. It's not on my SoundClick at the moment, but I plan to add it once I have time.
Nobuo Uematsu is also another influence. Whenever I play a Final Fantasy game, the first thing I note is always the music. His musical style is very diverse and I admire his versatility as a musician.
I started developing an interest in video game incidental music around the age of 8. I think my first RPG was Final Fantasy VII. The music in that game is really amazing. From then on, I continued to play RPGs and always gave extra attention to the background music. It's amazing how music can so effectively move the story along. I even tried making a game once, but it didn't quite pan out. So instead, I just write RPG-BGMs. :)
You can find most of my recent work here on my SoundClick website.

Why this name?
Audiomuse is the union of the words "audio" and "muse."
Do you play live?
I play at instrumental concerts and recitals, but I only play occasionally. I find the act of composing music, and the completion of the process more rewarding than performing live.
Incidentally, I am also the pianist in the Solaris piano trio (a piano trio consists of a pianist, a violinist, and a cellist). We play at weddings and dinners occasionally for pay.

Your influences?
I have been playing piano for over 12 years following the RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) program. My main influences come from composers Bach, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Balakirev and Ravel. My musical style can be very contrapuntal (heralding back to the Baroque Era) while being Romantic in style. I like to experiment with unusual not-easily-defined harmonies and rhythms.
