Welcome to awesome.
Why this name?
my initials are DKC...hmmm...
Do you play live?
i'm currently a student, so the time to play live isn't always available, but i would like to play more eventually.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
i love the internet, in fact, i think i'm addicted. what a great way to share music! i'm tired of musicians whining about piracy. it's funny cause the ones who are complaining are the ones who have already made their millions. struggling artists don't care cause they want everyone to just hear their sh*** so they can blow up.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
hell yeah... is there a musician that wouldn't? don't get me wrong, if it was for the right reasons, i would sign with an independent label just as quickly.
Band History:
believe it or not, i don't have a band. all the music you hear is just me. i guess i kind of "pulled a Dave Grohl" if you will. all guitar bass and vocal parts are performed by yours truly through the magic of overdubbing. the drums are actually produced by a drum machine, but i hand designed all of the rythyms, they're not from a bank. anyway, i guess the next step is getting some people to play my music with me. know any good musicians?
Your influences?
everything. except country, i guess. not a fan. but i really take bits and pieces from everything i listen to. i go through phases where a certain rythym or a certain guitar sound will be stuck in my head and i'll start writing stuff based just around that one sound. if i had to categorize myself, i would say alternative rock with punk influences and classic rock undertones with a slight metal edge... does that help? how about just plain rock and roll music?
Favorite spot?
unfortunately, i haven't seen enough of the world, but for now, i'd have to say the Jersey shore. people knock Jersey, but the shorline is beautiful and i spent a good amount of my summers there as a kid.
