I am a guitarist from Detroit that fuses hard rock, southern rock, classic rock and blues rock into a wall of sound that is sometimes disturbing and uplifting. I won a guitar solo contest on the largest rock station in Detroit W.R.I.F. with my first demo. I sold 100 or so CDs and had over 100,000 downloads on MP3.COM. Currently my music is being used on car show videos out of Germany on SUMMER OF TUNING. As you can see by my wall of guitars, I work hard and play hard and like different tones. Hailing from Detroit, my taste in music is about a working hard attitude, touch and soul. If you like two guitars kicking your ass this is for you.
Why this name?
I named one of the songs Distorted Youth because it had a simular vibe to the song " Black Sabbath". I though thought that would be a cool name for a band. When i started recording I went back to my roots of heavy metal, blues, anger and madness and soul. Distorted Youth just made sense.
Do you play live?
I LIVE TO PLAY YOU KIDDING ME!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet is great for indepenent artists to be heard and has leveled the field from big corproations to real rock and roll. Its about time I am done buying albums, cassettes , CDs of the same record.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yea. It definatly wouldnt be mainstream, it would fit excellent in movies and video games
Band History:
After trading My Jackson Randy Rhoads for my first Les Paul my tone and style changed. It was magical. I found my own sound and I HAD TO START RECORDING. From shred back to my roots of hard southern rock and maximum rhythm and Blues. With in weeks I purchased a four track and a drum machine and so on and on. Within a Month of recording my first demo, I won the Motor City Best Guitar solo WRIF contest at the largest rock station in Detroit This motivated me to produce over 50 songs.
I'm 46 and been playing since I was I was 14. I caught on pretty quick to Ted Nugent, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Led Zeppelin back in High School. Then I saw RANDY RHOADS in 1982 and was never quite the same guitar player. My roots were in Black Sabbath and Led Zep and played parties. Then I got married ghilled out for about 10 years and bought some recordeing equipment and now I am really into John Lennons work, a true master with a great rock and roll voice that evolved and actually means something. He was a prophet, there will never be another like like him. In fact, no one is even close.
