I started off writing songs in 2007, I would do a rough recording in my kitchen and upload them here on the click. Then about a year later I got a little braver and finaly left my kitchen to perform live as a solo act...

2008 brought me a fantastic band and great friends with whom I get to perform live with... be sure to check out our show listings to see if we are performing in a town near you... oh and make sure you stop and say "Hi" if you do come to a show!!!

There's loads of my tunes uploaded here on Soundclick... all different... even the first tunes I wrote with their very VERY rough recordings. Some live recordings with the band, some one woman and guitar / piano.

Why this name?
Lexie is my nickname. An abbreviation of Alexandria, besides Al Green was already taken :c)
Do you play live?
I play live as solo or with the band backing me around the UK wherever and whenever we can. I prefer to play with the backing of the band as my tunes were written with a band in mind and I never feel my very basic guitar playing does them any justice.

But my two special moments were my first live gig... November 2007in the final heats of a charity songwriting final for the homeless... and the first time I heard one of my tunes played with a full band... "Slippin'" feat. TG on all instruments
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Absolutely... you're here reading this now aren't you?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
... oh well let me think... yep... as long as they let me do MY thing and not THEIR thing.!
Band History:
December 2006 I wrote my first songs "Rockstar" & "Bored Housewife" using free samples I'd found on the internet (purely because I couldn't play the guitar). I Uploaded them onto a music site "Soundclick" :c) ~ Surprisingly I received some really nice comments and loads of encouragement so I wrote some more and more and more and... well you get the idea! I bought a guitar one month later, within a few of months I'd learnt enough (3 chords) to start writing songs using my guitar.

2008 I got to work with some great musicians around the world with whom I was lucky enough to sometimes jam, share ideas and on occasion, record with via the wonders of the world wide web... TG, Paul McIlwaine. Check out my collaboration page here:
