So this is where it all started, December 2006 in my kitchen. After leaving work to be a full time mum and housewife I found out by accident I had a love for writing songs. The first songs are mostly recorded using the most basic of hardware (an old karaoke microphone dug out of the garden shed, royalty free samples downloaded off the internet and a frying pan spit guard as a popper stopper). There's some one woman one guitar/piano, a handfull of live tunes and the first radio performance with my backing band. The early stuff is basic so production wise don't expect miracles but we all have to start somewhere... this is how I started and I'm not ashamed of it so here the original tunes will stay.
I have been blessed to meet some wonderful and talented musicians through Soundclick. Who I have on occasion been able to jam, write and record with via the web. Check out my LG Collaborations page.
2008 brought me a fantastic backing band with whom I got to perform live with and record my first album 'Twenty Ten' (available from all major download sites and from www.lexiegreen.com). These days I'm performing solo as singer/songwriter Lexie Green and am normaly found in my studio (yes I finally moved out of the kitchen!) writing and recording for TV/Ad use. I also perform with Danny Moore as the duo Lexie Green & Danny Moore... and for up to date info/show dates please visit http://www.lexiegreen.com
Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me and to all the talented people I have had the pleasure to meet and work with. Lastly thank you for stopping by!!!
Lexie ~x~
Why this name?
Lexie is my nickname. An abbreviation of Alexandria, besides Al Green was already taken :c)
Do you play live?
I play live as solo or with Danny Moore around the UK wherever and whenever we can.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Absolutely... you're here reading this now aren't you?
Band History:
Original Tex~Lex
Apart from singing karaoke on girlie night outs as a teenager Lexie Green had never sung in public, never written a song and had never strummed a guitar let alone owned one. After settling down as a Mum and housewife she became aware that there was something missing in her life. One December evening 2006 she sat down at her kitchen table and in a moment of inspiration penned her first song Bored Housewife (a mickey take of peoples perceptions of being a stay at home Mum). Recording it using the very basic of hardware (samples downloaded from the internet, an old karaoke mic dug out of the shed and the family PC) she uploaded it onto the Internet and was completely amazed by the incredible response it received. So, driven by the immense encouragement she bought a guitar, learnt a few chords and wrote some more songs. Finally making her first live appearance eleven months later in front of 250 people at a song writing final for the homeless charity Axiom.
Fast forward a handful of years and many more songs she quickly made a big impact on the Cambridgeshire music scene with her Rock & Blues influenced ‘Tex-Lex’ originals. Lexie has supported UK blues song stress 'Bex Marshall', LA based girl band 'The Like' and BBC Actress & Singer/Songwriter 'Heather Peace'. Along the way she has gained international song writing awards (Semi finalist and Commended entries 2009), Festival 4 Starz finalist 2010, publishing and TV interest, regular worldwide Internet radio and BBC Introducing Cambridgeshire play and live performances. In 2011 she was awarded the Best Original Song Award by Cambridge’s 30,000+ attendance annual festival, The Strawberry Fair 2011. This award brought a personal invitation for Lexie to record at The Vertical Rooms with Peter F Brazier aka ‘Zombie Boy’ (Cambridgeshire’s answer to Brian Eno). Pete’s prestigious client list includes Parlophone, E.M.I. and artists including John Martyn, Dannii Minogue, Mark Owen to name a few.
With comments such as "Wow Lexie, you have a great voice! I know I will be hearing more about you in the future." from the well known and respected producer Jack Douglas (John Lennon, The Who, Miles Davis, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Super Tramp, George Harrison... need we do on?) Lexie remains modest and honest when it comes to her music; simply stating "I'm not a guitarist. I'll leave that fancy stuff to Danny. I simply love writing and singing songs, if you enjoy listening to them then that makes the two of us very happy"
Introducing Danny Moore...
April 2009, introduced by Lexie’s friend and then drummer Pete McClelland, Danny Moore stood in on a rehearsal. Incredibly Danny (originally a covers band drummer) had only played guitar for 12 months. His playing instantly blew Lexie away and from that moment Lexie considered the Lexie Green Blues sound to be fifty percent Lexie Green and the other half very much Danny Moore. The debut album ‘Twenty Ten’ released October 2010 (available on all major download and streaming sites) featuring Danny on lead guitar received excellent reviews with Danny and Lexie’s performances especially being credited.
3 years on Danny & Lexie now perform mostly as the duo 'Lexie Green & Danny Moore' rather than with a full backing band. 2012 will see the eagerly anticipated release of the new album produced, recorded and performed in-house by the Green & Moore team.
