Melodic, Electronic Pop Music For Drug Damaged Crybabies...Putting The "DISCO" Back Into "DISCOMFORT"
Why this name?
My mother and father chose it.
Do you play live?
I play all over the place...I played the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco this year (www.folsomstreetfair.com) and it was f***ing INSANE. There were these two guys jerking each other off right in front of the stage the entire show...it was a bit distracting, but in the end it felt good that the audience was so moved.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's put my ass on the map, that's for sure. Before MYSPACE nobody knew who the hell I was.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
f*** YES. That's the goal.
Band History:
I have been writing and recording music for the past ten years. I was a DJ in the midwest during the heyday of the early rave scene and moved to Portland, Oregon in 1996 where I began to incorporate melodic vocals with electronic sound. I got sick of playing other people's music and decided to make my own.
I released a shitty demo tape called "This Is Folk Techno" which this local Portland producer PFOG got his hands on. He and I decided one night over drinks to collaborate on one or two songs, but that led to many more over the course of 8 months in 1999. By 2000, we had finished recording my debut record "GLEE" (See review below...)
("Logan Lynn's "GLEE" takes us on a journey through his broken bits...his tortured lyrics are often times disturbing and dark, but layered over his infectious beats and dance grooves, you will find yourself singing along in no time. "GLEE" is a rollercoaster ride which slowly takes the listener on a fantastic descent deep into the pit of human despair and out the other side with each of its 17 tracks. This is the rainy day record of all time. Logan's not-to-be missed self-titled sophomore effort was released on September 24th, 2006 and includes the DJ Dantronix Mash Up of Logan Lynn and DJ Turner "til the wheels fall off".)
I am currently working on a new record which I am hoping to release in the fall of 2007. Stay tuned...
