NorthWesSydaz is a group effort from three cousins, namely Aaron AKA Ooters, Jeren AKA Jeren The Great, and Alex AKA Stone Dawgg. We started recording around november/december 2005 but we've been writing lyrics much longer. Anything else you want to know, e-mail us.
Why this name?
The band name has changed a few times. When we first decided we were going to be a rap group, we were going by Cuzzinz 3 (cousins three), then after we stared recording we changed the name to JAA (J double A) because it was catchier. We ended up changing it again to NorthWesSydaz, and that's the name that stuck. We stumbled upon it because we are determined to represent the entire North West.
Do you play live?
We do live gigs, although we've only done one so far, we plan to many more. They will be hosted in the Chewelah, Spokane, Colville are in Washington state.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet gives more people more access to more music. More people will stumble on music on the internet than they would on the street because how do you hear someone's headphones? Walking around town the only way you'll hear new music is if its advertised on commercials on TV or Radio. If your suefin the web, you find a website and decide to check it out cuz it looks cool. Then you find a song and your like, wow, this is pretty good... You just don't get that as often on the streets.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course we would sign a record contract for a major label. We're not in this for the money but it is a great benefit and signing on a label of any sort will get you heard. That's what we're interested in is spreading word.
Your influences?
We sound like Eminem and Tupac, basic gangster rap, some southern music, and we are original so of course we sound like us.
Favorite spot?
C-Town, Chewelah, Washington. Rep the north west.
Equipment used:
We use a studio mic($100) a standard pre amp(more than $100) and a computer. We use any sound mixing software thats handy and gets the job done in a convenient easy to use way.
