Welcome to the A Big Guitar band site at SoundClick. Here you will find all things A Big Guitar. This band writes original compositions usually of various levels of Guitar Rock. Electronica is used at times to accentuate the mood of the material, but rarely as standalone music.
Why this name?
A Big Guitar was chosen for several reason. First, if you listen to the material, you'll clearly understand the name. The second reason is that the goal of the band is to create a big guitar sound in everything that's composed.
Do you play live?
A Big Guitar will play live if the proper venue presents itself.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
MP3 distribution, and music distribution in general, is here to stay. There is little need for real media on the future. But, as of today, CD media is still a mainstay in the music industry. People tend to like have a tangible object to hold and view. Plus, there are things like liner notes and lyrics which can be more difficult to distribute with MP3 or other digital distribution methods. These marketing things all have to be resolved.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, but only on very specific conditions.
Band History:
A Big Guitar has been around on and off since the early 90s. However, it is only recently that this project is back on again.
Your influences?
Influenced by a great many musicians including Van Halen, Mike Oldfield, Santana, Journey, Led Zeppelin, Dream Theater, Saga and the list goes on. The band itself takes itself in many different directions preferring to do songs that sound different each and every time rather than make a rash of the 'same sounding' material for a short while.
Favorite spot?
Nothing specific comes to mind.
