REVELATION
AKA “THA BOSS LADY”
REVELATION
"Revelation", born Laurie D. McDaniel, gained her interest in entertainment at the age of eleven, when she would spend hours dancing and performing for relatives at family gatherings. It was only obvious that if she was to follow her heart, she would become an entertainer. And that’s what she did. Performing in talent show after talent show, she gained experience and soon learned that the stage belonged to her. This came as no surprise. She comes from a background of Singers, Models, Dancers and Actors. Her gifted talent as an entertainer began to take a professional turn in high school where she would be asked to choreograph dance shows and was a popular cheerleader. As the Hip-Hop culture began to grow increasing popular, becoming a rapper soon became her passion. Soon after high school, “Revelation” who was then known as “Champaign” formed a rap duo with her sister “Goldie” and became known as “Gold-N-Champaign.” The group began performing in showcases all over southern California. They created a real “BUZZ” and soon found themselves negotiating with major recording companies, but just couldn’t seem to land the right deal. Then tragedy struck. Sister “Goldie” was involved in a fatal car accident and passed away from her injuries. This, along with the many ups and downs of the Music as a Gospel Rap Artist. Since then she has spent years performing in the Gospel Community as well as the “Commercial” entertainment industry trying to break through. The Church as a whole, had not been as supportive in accepting her as a Gospel “Rap” artist like she would have hoped, even though she is a devout Christian.
After many years in the Industry led Champaign to become “Sista Revelation” and pursued a career business she has finally reached her plateau becoming a true “Boss Lady.”
