Tearin' Out My Heart was written a long time ago, almost a decade, when I was still in high school. I had just broken up with someone who made me very upset. Although that person is now a friend, and we both found out things about ourselves that contributed to the break-up that would have made the ending, well, inevitable, the song stuck around as a youtful favorite.
