We are not so much a Band as we are a gang. Anthology is a literary nonprofit in Phoenix, founded to promote the literary arts. We sponsor a number of annual events, including poetry slams, featured readings and special events. We are a collection of spoken word artists working together to improve the opportunities and viability of spoken word as an art form.
Why this name?
We inherited it from a publisher of a poetry magazine in 1994.
Do you play live?
Since we are a collective of poets, one of us is usually playing somewhere, but the best chance to see us is going to be at the Weekly Essenzaslam Poetry Slam in Mesa, AZ.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We hope is makes us more accessible.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Some of us, well, most of us would, yes.
