This will be my first venture into the magical world of internet music. I love to listen to other people's stuff so I figured I'd try my hand at it too. I will probably be indiscriminant about what I put here because I just like recording songs. So, If you don't like one song, skip it and chances are the next one will be different. If you don't like two in a row, maybe you should just move on . . . no hard feelings.
Why this name?
My parents gave it to me. They chose the first part, but my mom isn't a raging feminist so the second half was pretty much decided.
Do you play live?
I have with a few different rock bands as well as solo acoustic. I love it. A special moment would probably be playing to thirty people in a campground bar in Canada on the 4th of July. They loved it so eventually I just started asking for requests and playing whatever they yelled out.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is great for the artists and bad for the industry. It can make you love a band without having to buy the CD, which helps the bands, but the bands don't make the bulk of their money on album sales, the companies do, so I can see why they're pissed.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure, if someone wanted to pay me to play and record music, its one less day I have to spend in an office somewhere.
Your influences?
I grew up on gospel music and Jim Croce, so I love songwriting and anything with soul. Since I have really gotten into just straight up rock and roll, but I don't do much of it unless its with a band. Storytelling is the key for me, I love a song that you can put yourself into.
Favorite spot?
Anywhere in Montana. . . its God's country.
Equipment used:
The acoustic I play mostly is one that my dad bought in the 70's, I don't know what kind it is but it is loud and sounds pretty good. Electric stuff is an American Tele and a pre-Gibson Epiphone, and a few Fender amps.
Anything else...?
If you find yourself here listening to this music and you like the songs, drop me a line. If you think it's dog-shit, I'd be even more happy to hear about it, honest dislike is far more flattering than a fake compliment.
