This is the page for MILESTONE - a dance band that was different. We played a varied repertoire, were capable of handling any audience...and we did a great job at it! We don't play together anymore but we're still spoken about...so here's something to remember by.....
Why this name?
This name was chosen by our first drummer, Maxwell Greig. We drew lots, but he suggested this to signify the milestones we cross on our musical journey...there's never an end and we keep passing them along...one by one.
Do you play live?
We're not together anymore...but we used to play live...anywhere...anytime:)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
A great way to reach out to people..simply fab!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
well...if they like our music and want us to...why not??
Band History:
We started out in 1992,played at a hotel for 2 years then moved to gig band status from '94 till we split in 2001.We travelled over South India, played many prestigious shows, did college showdowns, even had a small crash on the road...our driver was a moron there;)
We travelled to Goa...5 of us and our instruments on the roof, in a Maruti 800...had a great show and returned. And yes...we have influenced some young musicians of our town today...at least they say so:)
Your influences?
Each guy had his own..drummer Dom was into classic rock,Mario into Lee Ritenour and Fourplay(did I spell ir right;)...Pete was into Purple, Spyro and the like...I was into Dire Straits and Clapton...best part is we came together as a band
Favorite spot?
We played most often in Bangalore...but I think our best show was in Hubli....with polychickens flying by;)
Equipment used:
We had a Grestch drum set, Yamaha YS200 keyboard,Ibanez Bass, Ibanez & Kramer guitars,Boss ME8 and Zoom 2020 effects. The main system was always hired...except for practice.
Anything else...?
We had a blast...rocked the place wherever we went..Our simple motto was...make the best of a show. Our job was to play, and play we did!
