Why this name?

1st of all those who know me know my real name, & for those who don't... y'all can call me "Markuz" like everybody else who calls me on my mobile U know'm sayin'. "Ocampo" is my moms maiden name, it has that sound 2 it that nobody else in the rap game got u know. Its either lil'/young/mista/the/ or somethin' like that & its just too similar 2 everybody else's so I decided 2 go wit' what I'm known 4 the most.

Do you play live?

I Perform at local Hip Hop socials, Wedding Socials, Debu's, Clubs & fundraisers.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

The internet changed the music industry in a lot of ways, it gave audiences all around the world 2 share music together. Fans like myself was able 2 listen 2 our music of choice 2 annalyse whether or not an album was worth buying.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Realistically... NO. I'd rather go underground & start from the bottom up & earn my respect. Most MC's signed wit' a major record label often become blind wit' money & fame that it changes them right b4 they even know it. I want 2 earn my way up but 4 now, I'll keep workin' on my album 'till its done & then move on 2 my next one. Then when I have that foundation & the opportunity is there, I'll take it & sign wit' a major record label.

Band History:

I don't have a musical history, that's because I believe that its only beginning.

Your influences?

There's a lot of musicians who I have huge respect 4 like "Jadakiss, BustaRhymes, Dmx, Eminem, Nas, Lauren Hill, Diplomats, Snoop, T.I., Ludacris, BoneThugsnHarmony, Dre, LostBoyz, JaRule, MosDef, Common, K-os, YoungBuck, LilWayne, BigPun, Buju Banton, Jin, DJ Khaled, Rick Ross etc. But the 1 who stands on top of that list is 2pac Amaru Shakur. The reason 4 this is because I was able 2 relate 2 his pain & misery growin' up. I feel the same way about his views on topics only a few can comprehend. Issues such as poverty, rascism, equality, education & much more. I was inspired by his intensity & tenderness kind a like me, a troublesome lost soul lookin' 4 peace in this whirlwind life I was given. I'm not tryin' 2 be gloomy & sh*** of course I want peace, 2 be able 2 live life without havin' 2 worry 'bout homeys I got beef wit' everytime they see me but that is how it is out here & its bad but trust me... I've been tryin' 2 make changes in this muthaf***a but 4 some reason ain't nobody want 2 listen. So I'll have 2 talk 2 them the only way I know how... by any means neccessary.

Favorite spot?

My favorite spot... actually there's this spot in the Philippines in my pop's province. There's this mountain & on top of it there's this water stream where I used 2 play as a kid. There's this huge oak tree I used 2 climb everytime I was sad or stressed & just look at the horizon... I don't even know if it still stands but yeah, that's my favorite spot.

Equipment used:

Done my songs in the studio. Brotherman Productions, Sunshine Records, SONE1's & at Dj Yatz Basement Studio. There R times when I tend 2 rehearse at home so when I do go the studio... it'll be just one take meaning I don't have 2 waste my studio time.

"I've been nice, I've been understanding, I've been patient, I've been a lot of things... but I just can't take what's been goin' on lately. I know that rap is rap & I shouldn't take it literally but why talk & brag about somethin' y'all don't got & continue 2 do so in live interviews!? I'm done wit' havin' 2 remain silent while U ignorant muthaf***as claim somethin' that was never yours 2 begin wit. I'm sick of the lies y'all tryin' push so I'm here 2 get the record str8. All U fake rappers specially in Winnipeg better stay on the lookout in the streets 4 me 'cause I don't like what y'all tryin' 2 do plus I know a lot of real G's are pissed off too by the way U fake muthaf***as run your mouths like U run this murder capital city.
