June 16 - Since the previous version of the site was quite slow, we've created a new one. The set-up has stayed the same but the pages load faster now. But more important is the new look: Marlon has taken the old files, thrown them into a blender together with some flash-spice et voilà! Also we're planning to play gigs in Holland wich should take place from august on. Further details are coming soon.
may 2 - Today the Gelderlander, the main newspaper in our region, published a large article about us based on an interview with Hein. It is based on an interview a journalist had with Hein yesterday. The headline: "FoolsForFortune are jerking around." The story was quite positive about us. By the way, Niels was very pissed off because he wasn't mentioned in the whole piece! Niels: "Thank you very much Hein!"

The influences of FoolsForFortune are a wide array of almost every sort of pop music, from metal and punk to pop and funk. They have an own style, using the violin instead of rhythm guitar. Marlon, Niels and Hein like to have an open perspective on music as long as it’s got groove. That open attitude is what FFF stands for. Fools For Life!
Why this name?
It sounds good and speaks for itself.
Do you play live?
Yes we will from august on. For exact dates please check out www.foolsforfortune.com.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Hopefully internet will give more experimental yet intense bands/musicians a chance to bloom.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes of course, as long as we can make the music we want.
Band History:
Marlon, Niels and Hein have made music with each other as long as they can remember. (They’re 25 years old now). First with Hoedanigheid and now with FoolsForFortune.
Hoedanigheid was a typical live band, without electronics. After the band broke up the four members went their own way for a while, but Niels and Hein kept coming to Marlon’s house and working on songs together.
After Marlon had bought some synthesizers, the three guys began doing experiments with electronical music, and two years later they had thirty songs ready. But they weren’t satisfied about the sound quality of the songs so the ones they considered the best were recorded again, this time with a computer.
The first result is here: the e.p. FoolsForFortune. It mixes all the musical influences Marlon, Niels and Hein have gathered through the years.
Using samplers, sequencers and a laptop beside instruments like violin and drums during concerts , FoolsForFortune creates a live experience that keeps balance between a dance event and a rock concert.
