Started Flange in 1998 as a very small yet worldwide group for my online amature digital muso friends and have vigourously explored the diverse reaches of a versatile musical background since.

I've been a livingroom muso for long enough, time to let everyone else hear it.
Why this name?
Initially we just wanted a cool word that associated with electronic music somehow.
Then an old friend called simon came up with this:
FLANGE = FreeLance Artists of Next Generation Entertainment.

Since then we have discovered numerous other meanings for the word. :) And so the name stuck cos I hate changing names.
Do you play live?
I love to play live in a number of ways but havent yet performed any of this material live.
Special moment: performing live as a drummer with an 'Elvis' who had 0 sense of timing... that was fun, thankfully the audience was largely inhebriated. ;)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
MP3 changes the music industry by making music more accessable on an individual level. It helps force the quality of music to improve as "album fillers" become a thing of the past.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
lol yeah probably.
Band History:
Was moved from UK to Australia at age 3 (hi mum - thanks). Learned piano from very early age, took up drum lessons and self taught guitar at about age 13, played in many amature/hobby/school bands, dabbled with drum session work age 17, started digital composition in 1997.

Started Flange in 1998 as a very small yet worldwide group for my online amature digital muso friends and have vigourously explored the diverse reaches of a versatile musical background since.
Your influences?
Infected Mushroom, Crystal Method, Propellorheads, Green Nuns, Metallica, Steve Vai, the constant stream of music going through my head, emotions, friends works, ... just faaar too many to mention.
Favorite spot?
Hmm, very hard to choose.
Equipment used:
The computer, cheap guitars, cheap mic, some occasional percussion, the metronome, coffee, the usb massager ;)
