FacePunch has played many shows in the upstate Connecticut area since about April. We have been banned from the Newtown and Bethel teen centers for being too "rowdy." Our most succesful venue is at Arch St. in Greenwhich, CT. We have played two succesful shows there and plan on having many more. On October 20, we played at the Webster Underground, opening and playing right before Murphy's Law. This was a big accomplishment for FacePunch.

Who Knows?

Well around the time of January 2006, Dan was cruising MySpace when he came across a bulletin which had the title “Butthole”. This bulletin was posted by Rob, who Dan had met months earlier at a show. Interested by the title Dan, read the bulletin and it was Rob trying to get a band going and looking for a singer. Things got going, and the first ever practice was only Rob, Keith, and Dan in Keith’s room. Guitar, Bass, and screaming vocals. The three only knew how to play two songs: Minor Threat, and Nervous Breakdown. Weeks go by and finally they get a few originals, and a drummer and second guitarist are recruited. John on second guitar and Paul on drums. The first official practice with a full line-up took place in the first week of February 2006 in the infamous Studio - E practice rooms beneath the Empress Ballroom in Danbury, CT. The practice was a bust to say the least. The band was so fresh and new to each other everything came out in one big blur of hateful shit. Two originals, and the same two covers were practiced over and over again, and it ultimately ended with Dan getting mono and this put the band on a month and a half hiatus. Fast Forward a couple of months and we go to FACEPUNCH’S debut appearance at the Bethel Municipal Center...another bust because they were officially banned from ever playing the Bethel teen center, but succesful none the less. Eventually John’s absence from practices and two shows lead to his being booted out. Months go by, the band plays more and more shows, write more songs, and work on perfecting their sound as a four piece. FACEPUNCH becomes popular with the Arch Street crowd and plays two extremely succesful shows at the Arch Street Greenwich Teen Center. In late August 2006, just before Dan is to leave for college, the band finally decides to get down to business and record an EP. This incorporates a new second guitarist-Dan, a longtime friend of Dan and Paul’s from Norwalk. With the help of Jesse from 5 Bye 7, and Ben from Nocturnal Mucus Envelope, FACEPUNCH records a halfway decent 9 song EP with ONE MICROPHONE. The same night went on to play a show in the Newtown Teen Center and sell out every copy of the EP, and yet again getting banned because of rowdiness. FACEPUNCH is still going strong and has no intention of stopping anytime soon.
