Styrohead is the working ongoing project name for Joe G's electronic & electro-acoustic musical improvised sound experiments. Every musical experiment must make sense, both musically & structurally. In addition, the music must also take the listener into their own personal space. These experiments are mostly recorded & taken from long musical improvisations sometimes lasting for up to 2 hours, or whenerver the Tape runs out. Only very few improv recordings are overdubbed. As an avid guitar player & sound sculptor, Joe has been experimenting with synthetic sounds & processing for up to 17 years. Eight years with guitar & an additional 8 years with synthesizers. Joe G continues experimenting today both live & in the studio. Joe also enjoys collaborations (jamming) with other musicians & does so whenever he can. He has been included in 3 "Ping Ambience" compilations (www.theambientping.com) & has appeared on 2 releases as a colaborator on Eric Hopper's "Sylken" electronic projects. Not to mention live improvisations with musicians like; Wally Jericho, Richard Underhill (Astrogroove, Shuffle Demons), Mach 747 (Perfecto Records UK), Saint Pete, Eric Hopper (Sylken), Phil Ogison, Arnold Sprog (Ambient TV), Pholde, Mike Rockwood, Lyle Crilly, Dreamstate's "Drone Cycle" series, DJ Synapse, Jacob Theisen, & Paul Royes. Joe is currently at Robeter Productions playing guitar on various up comming "Robeter Music" recording artists. Joe G will continue making electronic music as well as playing guitar & recording productions. There will be more styrohead music as well as CD releases from "Nebula Productions", comming soon early 2007. Listen to Styrohead on: www.thefalsegods.com which is a weekly 3-hour radio show on CFMU 93.3FM at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. It is syndicated through "Radio4All" to other stations across the world.
