Mission Statement
We have a 3-fold mission that we believe God has called us to.
1 - Worship - Ward nine's first goal is to lead people in worship. Its not a show, a concert, or a performance for people to watch. We strive to make the experience one that allows and encourages people to use any biblical means possible to worship God. We believe that God deserves not only our lifestyles as worship, but also that corporate worship with others is of utmost importance to spiritual growth.
2 - Relevancy merged with antiquity - We believe that both modern music and hymns play a very important roll in worship. We work to stay on the forefront of modern music using music resources, cutting edge performance technology, and by encouraging an eclectic music style. We also hold tight to the truth, beauty, and rawness of the founders of our faith, the music that they wrote, and the deep meaning of the lyrics that they wrote. These pieces of music are never outdated and we believe should always hold a solid roll in modern worship.
3 - Teenagers - In Ward 9, we love to encourage all ages, races, ethnicities, and denominations to worship along with us, however our primary goal is to reach out to students from 7th to 12th grade. We believe that this generation is the future of the Christian church, and if we can build into people at this age the truth of Jesus Christ and anthem of His Glory, that the future of the church and of the world has a much brighter future.

Why this name?
Name - The name Ward 9 comes from an experience that some of the students in our ministry had in December of 2005. They traveled to New Orleans after the hurricane and were able to go into the 9th Ward and see the devastation that occured when the levy's broke. The 9th ward of New Orleans is in utter destruction and we chose this name so that we would always be reminded of the utter destruction that we are in without our Savior Jesus Christ. Our goal is that everyone who hears our music, sees that heart behind it, and realizes the importance of praising the God who ressurected us.
