Nobody's Mule is a rock and roll band from the NYC Metro Area. The members of this newly-formed band have long-established roots in the New York City rock scene. Nobody's Mule speaks to the heart of the listener in no uncertain terms. The accent may be New York, but the message is universal.
Why this name?
We decided a long time ago that none of us were cut out to be anybody else's beast of burden.
Do you play live?
We have just released a two-album on one disk compilation titled "Barroom Baritones and Jackass Delusions." It is available at CdBaby.com, Amazon.com and other internet sites. Singles from the CD are available here at Soundclick. We will be touring extensively in support of the CD release.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Allows independent bands an opportunity to be heard by a wider audience.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Right now we're exploring the Indie approach and trying to remain true to our creative vision. If the right deal came along, of course we'd consider it.
Nobody's Mule is the culmination of many years of toil by its members individually and together in the small-club and bar-band scenes. You know, those four sets a night gigs that wreck your lungs and your marriages as well. Now we're gonna try to kick down the stalls with some original music. The new band captures the energy of the earlier groups, and brings to the fore the lyrical songwriting talents of our lead vocalist, the fabulous Johnny Darling.
Early Stones, the Velvet Undergound, late-60s Dylan, early 70s Bowie, the NY Dolls, U2.
New York City. Where else?
Fender guitars, basses. Marshall Amps. The usual suspects.
To our old friends and new fans: Thanks for the support.
