Why this name?
paranoid schizophrenic with an alternate alias...gh¤st...i didnt choose either names people just started callin me them. Skitzo's self-explanatory...gh¤st is a little more complicated...
Do you play live?
Never really done nothing live....unless you consider recording in front of 30 people in a basement.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
for better and worse. you can be heard around the world much easier, but to some that makes it difficult to make a living that way.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
probably not...only if i was guaranteed full control of my projects and at least half the profit
Band History:
Started rapping in 2003 in my hometown, Calgary, with Eshoo Barnun from Allciti. We met through my father and he got me started recording for the first time, and gave me a little taste in making beats and production. I made three tracks with him until i moved back to ontario and met up with my first and most recent group, Black Dragonz. We didn't have the tools to make our own beats so we simply f****d around with instrumentals and recorded joke tracks til we got split up due to some legal s**t. By 2005 we had 2 cds worth of joke tracks made in just 2 months one all freestyles the other all laid out. In 2006 my legal troubles cleared up and I started a bit of recording, but had some issues with my equipment and fell under the radar again until now...2010.
Your influences?
mainly older rap and hip-hop...early nineties are my influence...the messages expressed at the time had more feeling, it's evident when most artists this decade come and go faster than birds in jail. The beats weren't as monotonous either. I'm not into single-bar samples or tried-tested-and-recycled lyrics. With that said....check these out to know where i'm comin from...Immortal Technique, 2pac, scarface, gang starr, onyx, etc.
Favorite spot?
Calgary, AB so far
Equipment used:
a broken mic....a broken computer...alot of paper, and half-full pens
Anything else...?
