Dub Rascals presents a selection of dub and dub inspired songs produced from collaborations by little rascals - Spiral Soundsystem, Souljam and Jerry Mane with special guest artists such as Pickle and Leeroy the Horns. Many vibes throughout from electro-dub, break-dub, skanky-dnb and ambiient for every one to chill with. This is the beginning of a full volume of dub music to be released regulary by LRRecords. Don't miss out on the first pressing of the volume, it will go on to be a local and global dub classic.
Why this name?
Because we are going to release plenty of dub influenced music from Little Rascal Records - hence Dub Rascals
Do you play live?
Yes - have only done a few gigs in Cairns. The ReggaeTown Festival would have to be the highlight gig so far! We are like a dub soundsystem - Jerry Mane on Final Scratch, Spiral on bass and Symonard on percussion...dub and drum and bass.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Makes music more accessable and you tend to discover new music/bands that you would otherwise never hear of.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
For mega distrubution of physical CDs maybe? Our own label has the digital distribution thing happenin pretty good thanks to IODA and the 'little rascal'.
Band History:
We are pretty fresh - work in progress - dub and drum and bass!
Your influences?
We all love a variety of music from Sonic Youth to Alpha Blonde. If it is good and we can feel the passion, we like it. Tendicies towards big bass and fat beats. Dub, drum and bass, breaks, electronica, rock, punk, ambient, trip hop, hip hop, downtempo, reggae, world, hardcore, techno, ska. it goes on and on.....
Favorite spot?
Cairns. Far North Queensland, Australia.

LIVE: Pioneer 800 DJ mixer, Technics turntables, Korg sampler/midi keyboard, Mac laptop, Final Scratch. Ibanez GT bass, Peavey Standard Series 260 Amp, Hartke Bass Attack Valve Tone Shaper Pre Amp, Boss Octave OC-2 pedal, 2 X JBL 15" speaker cabs, Set of Congo drums.
Studio: Mac and PC computers, Midi keyboards, Roland electronic drumkit, bass, guitar, percussion, samples, MIDI, to many monitors to mention, vinyl, Reason, Albeton Live, Cubase, Logic, Peak and a bunch of plugins.
