Pulling ambient and comtemporary together, combined with urban drum and bass; perfectly cut up and mixed until the final result sounds something like an acoustic speedcore death-metal concert from the 80's gone bad.
Straifel rips spine-shattering basslines, epileptic drum riffs, and deep synth that eventually come together to form the fine-tuned tracks you hear today.

Why this name?
Straifel was actually an alias screen name I had used on some online games years ago... And so many people knew me as "Straifel", so I figured why not keep that name!
Do you play live?
I don't play any of MY drum & bass live, though occassionally I'll DJ at local clubs.
Over the next few years I'll slowly be upgrading my equipment. Hopefully there will come a time when I can put my tracks onto vinyl and play them live :)

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well for starters, it's great for up-and-coming musicians! The internet is by far the best way to distribute mp3's and get yourself known.
Of course there's the downside of file sharing. That obviously sets already-famous musicians back a dollar or two, since anyone with an internet connection can simply download their album for free.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Never! The drum & bass industry is an indy industry. And that's how it should stay.
Major labels are major because they steal your soul, and your money. I see indy labels as much more friendly.

Dieselboy, definately. He's amazing.
Evol Intent and Tech Itch are also some great producers that I love to listen to and am often inspired by.
Other influences come from Limewax, Pendulum, Ewun and many many more.
