Hey this is Etan im the guitarist/bassist for Eyes Of Prophets. Were a relatively new band of three friends, we all have different styles and sometimes we match tones and it sounds wonderful. I hope to capture that sound on the next album
Why this name?
It was my fav local band. they broke up and let me use it.
Do you play live?
not much, when we get together we just play at each other's house
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
it makes it a hell of a lot easier to get your band noticed
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
we would like to
Band History:
Better Than (Original Name) rose out of the ashes of Devastator in early 2006. The band Devastator still does shows even though i dont sing vocals for all the shows they play. Flawless was the first band name but it was ruled out by the fact that it was already taken. But thats how it goes. All of the songs on the album (Some Things Are Just Sacred) were written, played, and sung by Etan Mullen.Shawn Joined April 25, 2006. Steve joined and quit in the course of a day or two. And May 1, '06, the band name changed to "3rd Story Door To Nowhere" i like it better anyway. And in the words of Kevin, "Life sucks! It gets worse every day till you die. But hey tommorow night is dollar beer night, so cheer up." With that i say enjoy the music we put out if you want. But I must say that we may not be doing shows till late next year. Dont get your hopes up. As of 7/10/06 the band is no more. i may use this site as a solo project site but its not likely. if any of my "bandmates" would have cared about this band this would have never happened. im sorry. i cant just act like there is a band anymore. if you didnt know, the band only REALLY lasted for about a week. after that, well everyone but me gave up pretty much.
Your influences?
there are to many to list, but im most influenced by SLASH, J influenced by a softer style, almost blues style, and Mike has been most influenced by Jimi Hendrix
Favorite spot?
Rock Hollow, my bros band plays it a lot
Equipment used:
I have an ION guitar with matching amp, Mike uses a Dean or sometimes an Ibanez with a VOX amp, and J mostly goes with an acoustic
