Probably the most polite rock band in the world, Moorehead offers to hang up your coat while you're taking off your panties.
Why this name?
The name is inspired by the American film diva Agnes «Fabulous Redhead» Moorehead whose debut came with the Oscar winning «Citizen Kane» and later became one of America’s most beloved actresses. In 1959 she and John Wayne did the movie «The Conqueror» with location close to a nuclear test area in Utah. The movie was terrible and got slamming reviews. In addition half of the crew got cancer, including John Wayne and Agnes Moorehead. Agnes later confessed «The Conqueror» was the only thing she really regretted in her life..
Do you play live?
We've done a few concerts in Trondheim, and you know what: the panties came off!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The artists get direct access to the fans without all the fuzz in between. This means freedom and more music. In Norway a new band is born every four seconds.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the deal means full artistic freedom, the answer is, uhm... yes.
Band History:
Moorehead was created in Trondheim, Norway 2004.
Your influences?
The Killers, Foo Fighters, Peter Gabriel, It Bites, Crowded House, Joni Mitchell, Death Cab For Cutie, Super Furry Animals, Pavement, Sufjan Stevens, Jeff Buckley, Stevie Wonder, Radiohead, Beck, Blowbeat, etc...
Favorite spot?
Someplace warmer than Norway..
Equipment used:
Well.. Our songs are recorded in our own studio, that is: a few quit nice microfones, a bad ass computer, a couple of beers and loads of cigarettes in a pretty messed up room in a building soon to be demolished for the purpose of an express highway which we believe some way or another probably will be more hated by the neighbours than we ever were.
Anything else...?
Sometimes it seems as though a song was made even before it was recorded, and that all that needs to be done, is to put the pieces in the right place. When recording this particular song, The Show, the pieces seemed to be easy enough to be placed by a blind infant with no arms (sorry, that was in bad taste, but the point stands).
