Glitch-Kraft for the New Millenium.
DefenceBass 23 is a side Projekt of Priapus23 from Akoustik Timbre Frekuency. Elektro-Glitch Muziks using sounds that shouldn't work...
Why this name?
I saw a movie a few years ago (not sure what it was called) about a platoon of soldiers that were defending an island in the middle of nowhere. They had a grotty time from the beginning of the film to the end through enemy attacks, disease, hunger, etc. I think they pretty much all died by the end for no reason as the island was given back. The bunker they were protecting was 'Defence Base 23'.
Band History:
This came about through listening to lots of the scratchy, glitchy sounds that I had kreated for Akoustik Timbre Frekuency and wondering if they would work as rhythms. I was already studying different cultures of Muzik and wanted to make Dance Beats that didn't always fit the 4/4 time signature. It started off as a purely analogue Projekt using old Roland gear, etc but slowly over the years it has metamorphosized into the digital realm with the use of Reason and other soft synths.
