dMb is a one-man band also known as David Boeser, who is currently 17 years old and lives in his dad's basement making electronic and comedy music.
Why this name?
I wanted to use my initials because they had that kind of great sound to them, and I noticed that if I only capitalized the M, "dMb" was symmetrical. That was friggin awesome.
Do you play live?
I don't play live. I'd need a bit of help with that.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet is a great way for new artists to get stuff out there.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably not at the moment. I'd need better recording equipment and more know-how first.
Band History:
I first attempted to make music under this name in 2003, when I was 14 years old. Armed only with my Casio SK-1 and Sound Recorder, I put together about 8 minutes worth of extremely HORRIBLE low-quality tracks, and labeled them "Keyboard Songz." These tracks can be downloaded from the official homepage, http://dmb.illemonati.com , but I recommend that you ignore them or avoid them completely.
Your influences?
Beck, They Might Be Giants, Dave12D3, Lemon Demon, Bis, Depeche Mode
Favorite spot?
My hometown, Richfield, MN.
Equipment used:
* Casio SK-1
* Casio WK-3000
* Violin
* Atari 2600 Synthcart
* Kazoo
* Texas Instruments TI-99/4A computer (rarely used)
Anything else...?
The music is put together using Audacity. The debut album, "Mixes," was released in late June of 2006. The second album, "/whois LuciferJohnson," was released in February 2007. The third album, "INVISIBLE SANDWICH," was released in October 2007, and was recorded around the same time "/whois LuciferJohnson" was. The second 2 albums can be bought from Soundclick. They're $4.99 each.
