Greetings, I am Lady Rain StarDragon. I'll be archiving audio versions of of poetry here, and I hope that you will enjoy them as they become available. Some may have musical accompaniment of my own skills, others may not. In the future, perhaps my instrumental music may find a home here as well.
Why this name?
Many many years ago, I was searching for a new name to mark a milestone in my life. The weather was singularly rainy/snowy at that time of year and during that year. After a dream in which I was called by a name that translates to "Rain blossom" or "Sky blossom" depending on how it is written, Rain became the first name of a new pen name. Before that, the person appearing in the dream had often called me Ameko or Ame-chan when not using my birth name. Other dreams led to the surname StarDragon.
Do you play live?
I do not do live performances or readings yet. However, I am interested.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
With mankind's desire for the instant gratification, I think that the internet and mp3 recording capability has expanded what the average listener has access too, and makes it easier for lovers of a particular genre of music to find things that will satisfy them.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, if the contract was right.
