Do you play live?
I had several performances during this past spring and summer. I've performed as a singer/songwriter in 100 concerts throughout the State of Kansas....and over 700 performances with the U.S. 7th Army Soldiers' Chorus in Europe during my military service.
My only performances are for The Good Samaritan Society in Dodge City, KS.
Now I'm exclusively a Song Writer looking for a Music Publisher who can connect my songs with profitable music opportunities.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I now see it as a world wide "Open Mic" (an idea Peter Spellman shares in his book "The Musician's Internet")
Today's technology provides an opportunity for greater and faster connection with music and fans alllllllllllll around the world.
This ability simply didn't exist 20 or 40 years ago...But it's happening right NOW!

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes....and even with a good Indie label.
Let's Talk About It.....
I read a lot of books and articles on the music business.
Many major labels are in a self-destruct mode right now. Signing with a major label is not the "Prize" that it once used to be.
Today, being a serious Indie artist also is not easy...In fact it can be overwhelming some times.
But if you work smarter and harder there are a lot of opportunities.
Some music biz writers indicate that in today's world, contracts with major labels only seem to happen when you've already done all of the work ....and then you don't really need them.
This business is not for the timid or faint hearted.
But, Yes, I'm open to any opportunities that a Record Label or a Musical Publisher could provide for me.

As a performer with the 7th Army Soldiers' Chorus and during my military service, I've traveled to London, Madrid, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Glasgow, Amsterdam, Ireland, Wales, Denmark, The Isle of Sylt...
Each one of these places holds a special charm or beauty that I enjoyed at the time.
I've lived in Miami, LA, and numerous places in small town America...But, I love world famous Dodge City, Kansas and enjoy writing songs about my home town.
I also like Sand Key on Clearwater Beach, Florida.

I really like this song, Max. It contrasts the smoothness of your voice to the harshness of the setting. Have you brought it into a jail? I believe it would be a consolation to the suffering souls there. To paraphrase the Bible in modern English, "Lord, when have we ever seen you begging for a dollar, shivering with a thin coat, or sitting on a jail cot wishing you had never been born?" "Let me tell you....whenever you have helped those needy ones, you have helped me." Bless your ministry, Max!
