Why this name?
Khidr was a figure in Islam, who spent time with Moses, and performed certain acts which appeared repugnant to Moses, but which later turned out to be the will of God. We often do repugnant things in the name of righteousness, and it doesn't lessen the burden we have to bear.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Copyright desperately needs a reconstruction to it's foundation in the Constitution and logical basis in enligtenment thought. The internet might just help, if enough of us work together to refill the public canon.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm in enough debt as it is.
Your influences?
Rufus Wainwright, Bob Dylan, Ariana Huffington, Jeff Buckley, Dave Douglas, Charles Evans, and Kermit the Frog.
Favorite spot?
Philly, but I just like having roots now.
