On Angel Dust
Shimoda Are from Redhill in England. Our music is based around dichotomy, the clash of to opposites, so you'll find a contrast of Loud and quiet, Harmonious and Dischordant, Fast and Slow, Thought out and Natural as well as a contrast within the lyrics. We try to incorporate large amounts of clashing chord and unharmonious sound in to our noise as its the only area of music not fully explored to death.
Why this name?
its the name of the messiah from ILLUSIONS by richard bach, a book that sums up alot of my philosophy.
Do you play live?
Wenever we can, although all the local clubs are fixated on ska and generic metalcoreshite. The first gig we played we got blacklisted from the club for 'overly offensive lyrics'. Might explain why we can't get many gigs.......
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes finding releases by underground or unsigned bands much easier, and means that large bands that make too much money anyway lose money through illegal mp3 sites.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If it gave 100% creative control, then sure. I have no problem with straining to reach the largest possible audience, trying to make as much golden shite as possible is where major label bands fall to the hands of capitalism.

Favorite spot?
St Ives, surfing and the chili's.
Equipment used:
watever we can afford, namely £1 mikes, a £50 guitar, £60 bass and amp and a £200 plastic drumkit.
