Band History:
Cafe con Leche started in october, 2005 when trumpettist Olly gathered some musicians in his room. Jamming on a few ideas for songs he introduced, they all realized the groove they created was one they played with fun.
This resulted in a first stage performance in april, 2006, at the Koedan festival in Watou. At that time, most of the songs were still written by Olly, but all band members put their ideas in it to create a rather unique sound. The performance was a succes, and soon more organisators heared about the band and wanted to give it a try.
After a summer of performing on different stages, the band decided they need more songs. During the winter of 2006 a lot of work was done to rearrange the existing songs and write some new ones. In that same period our first demo was recorded.
In the beginning of 2007, Mamita left the band to find her own way in the music scene. Tzigana was introduced to us and after a short trial, both she and the band wanted to go on together. Since the demo was recorded with Mamita, we had to start recording some new material.
Luckily, Mr. Mariachi had a chance to get hold on his own studio material. Since spring 2007, the band is recording in their own home-studio in between concerts and repetitions. By the end of 2007, a new demo should be ready to distribute, this time not only for the organisations, but also for the fans.
