SUBDUCTION ZONE

Imagine yourself on the surface of a rough planet. A planet doomed to be destroyed by it's sun, which is growing into a red giant. The enormous disc of the sun covers half the sky, and enormous mountains surround you. Molten magma is flowing from different craters and vulcanoes nearby. And constantly you feel like something very, very, very heavy is going to fall on you.
This feeling of total and impending doom is what it feels like to listen to SUBDUCTION ZONE.

SUBDUCTION ZONE comes forth from low end experimentation with various sounds. Noises are stretched til they are many times longer than their original, and they are combined to form long massive ultra heavy soundscapes. Can you imagine Merzbow playing Sunn o))) songs? That is how SUBDUCTION ZONE sounds.

Currently SUBDUCTION ZONE is working on the debute album "Gravity machine". This ultra sludgy and digital mega drone-doom work will be released somewhere in 2004.

Mind you that most of the songs of SUBDUCTION ZONE on this page will be snippets. The full length pieces will last well over 10 minutes, and will quite often pass the twenty minute border. Long, slow hypnotizing drones will crush the last remains of your happy life into a depression which outweights the mass of a large planet.
