Why this name?
I have recorded under both Cheryl "Edelmann" (my last name) and Cheryl "Paige" (my middle name). I am currently using Cheryl Edelmann
Do you play live?
I try to sing in as many churches and at as many special events as possible. As mentioned above, I have had some exciting moments over the years, but I am just as happy to sing for one person as I am singing for 10,000. If one person is blessed by my music and message, then God is pleased and so am I!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is a powerful tool in the music industry today. I remember walking the streets in Nashville wishing that just one person could hear my music, and now a whole wonderful world has been opened!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Absolutely, I would love to sign with a major label.
Band History:
Music has always been a big part of my life. As a child, I played the piano in church and then started singing as a young teen. After high school, I attended Westminster Choir College as a church music major with a concentration in piano and a minor in voice. During my career, I have been blessed with the opportunity to sing on various stages from The Academy of Music in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. I have also recorded several demo projects, and most recently, a CD entitled "Garment of Praise." I will be working on a new project next month!
Your influences?
My greatest musical influence is probably Bill Gaither, from the Trio in the 70's through the various Vocal Band incarnations of today. I was raised with Southern Gospel music. I also absolutely adore David Phelps. I think he is the best first tenor in the world! I have several country influences as well, including Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood and Vince Gill.
Favorite spot?
Without a doubt, my favorite city is Nashville, TN.
Equipment used:
I have some equipment of my own, but generally I use whatever is available where I sing.
