Band formed in September, 2004 in São Paulo, Brazil. Its main characteristic is the female vocals, which alternates with male and guttural vocals. The main band influences goes from Doom to Gothic Metal, and sounding also like some 80's Heavy Metal, as well as the 70's Progressive, as a result of its members’ experiences in other bands and musical projects.
Its composing has the commitment to show that in spite of every single situation a person may be, there will always be a Light capable to drive all dark away. The lyrics are honestly written and lived by its members, and talks about personal situations, thoughts and ideas about living, feelings and the supernatural around us.
The first CD-EP, "Forged", released in Abril/2005, counts on the tracks "Show You the Way", "Inside my Mind" and "Morning Star". This album tells the story of a character and the process that leads his life to be molded – forged - as the raw metalin a blacksmith's forge. The cover art is composed by the elements of this theme, and demonstrates the possibility of hope and change among mankind’s degradation.
In July/2005, Bloodforge was the winner in a festival with other fifteen bands in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Today the band is performing throughout Brazil, and preparing the complete official CD.

Why this name?
The forge represents a tool that changes something into another better one.
Also, we understand that all mankind must be changed, and accept the human sacrifice that took us out from our cursed doom. A sacrifice with blood.

Do you play live?
Playing live is a really special time for us, it's where we can share our feelings and impressions of the world with each person. We do like it !
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Through MP3 and Internet, you have access to the work of ANY artist in ANY place of the world. You don't have to wait the decision of local companies to release something, 'cos you can get it through the web. Also, small artists can share their work with the entire world.
There are also the market advantages, you sell something that you do not have to stock it, you can sell to anyone in any place etc.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. We already have material for a complete CD.

Band History:
In September 2004, bassist Doug Bathmann was invited to take part in a Rock Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In order to perform the gig, Bathmann called his friend, guitarist Vagner Machado to gather a band. It was not to be an official band, just a group of friends playing and bringing a message.
Bathmann and Machado contacted drummer Miguel Polizel and vocalist Gilmore Lucassen. Machado also invited guitarist Rod Silva and Bathmann invited vocalist Sus Gramcianinov and pianist J. Marcel Baria that were playing with him in some projects at that date.
From this unofficial union came Bloodforge.

Your influences?
Our main influence is the gothic/heavy metal, but you can find elements of progressive rock, 80's trash metal, hard rock and classical music in our song. Bands like Epica, After Forever and Nightwish could be a reference to our sound.
